Newcastle, England: Papiss Cisse's fifth goal in six games inspired Newcastle's fightback as the team ended a four-match Premier League losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Everton on Sunday.
After Arouna Kone scored his first goal for Everton in the fifth minute, Cisse leveled in the 34th with a close-range finish.
Ayoze Perez put Newcastle in front in the 51st, cutting inside Sylvain Distin before thumping a shot through Seamus Coleman's legs and into the bottom corner.
Jack Colback extended Newcastle's lead in the 68th with his first goal for the club after Everton midfielder Ross Barkley failed to cut out Daryl Janmaat's cross.
Kevin Mirallas pulled one back for Everton in the 84th but it couldn't prevent a third successive loss.
"It's concerning because we're not in a good moment in terms of being able to carry the suspensions and injuries," Everton manager Roberto Martinez said. "It seems that everything that could have gone against us in the last couple of games, it went wrong and you don't want that to creep in and create a bit of a negative momentum."
Newcastle provisionally rose above Liverpool into ninth place as Everton stayed 12th. But manager Alan Pardew did not appear for post-match interviews, hours becoming the bookmakers' favorite to fill the vacant Crystal Palace manager's job.
